Malaysian Curry : Kampung Style Sambal Anchovies


  • 150g anchovies
  • 100g fried peanuts
  • 2 red chili
  • 2 green chili
  • ½ cup Malaysian sambal paste
  • 1 big onion (sliced)

Method for Cooking Kampung Style Sambal Anchovies:

  1. Wash the anchovies, remove to drain. Deep fry in hot oil until crispy. Remove.
  2. Put Malaysian sambal paste in pot and stir-fry well. Add in red chili and green chili, stir-fry until cooked.
  3. Add in fried peanuts, fried anchovies and stir-fry evenly. Remove and serve.


It is better to serve this dish when cooled, or you may cook it 1 day ahead.
