Malaysian Curry : Delicious Kampung Sambal


Ingredients

  • 60g Tanau salted fish
  • 60g dried shrimps (cut into small pieces)
  • 300g red chili
  • 100g shallots
  • 50g garlic
  • 30g assam paste (mix with ½ cup of water)
  • Big onion, to taste
  • Lime juice, to taste

Seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar


Method for Cooking Delicious Kampung Sambal:

  1. Blend red chili, shallots and garlic. Mix assam paste with ½ cup of water.
  2. Heat ½ cup of oil in pot, stir-fry Tanau salted fish and dried shrimps until golden brown and fragrant. Remove to drain.
  3. Heat ½ cup of oil, stir-fry the bended Ingredients until fragrant, add in Seasonings, assam paste and other Ingredients, mix well.
  4. Add in big onion and lime juice, serve with noodles or white rice.

Tip:

You can make more sambal to keep in the refrigerator, but do not add in big onion or lime juice before storage.
